About Us
A Pet Spa was purchased by Ashley Swenson and Josh Knigge in April of 2022, after a combined 30 years experience in training and grooming.
Over the past few years, we have made a consistent effort to build the best salon possible. Both for the clients and pets that walk through our doors, and the talented stylists that work for our small business. We continue to strive for excellence in our industry and community by investing in the continued education of our staff and providing top of the line products and equipment. Ensuring quality care to every pet that walks through our doors.

A Pet Spa is located in Puget Square Business Park on the corner of 8th & 128th in south Everett. Conveniently located close to I-5 near Mill Creek, Lynnwood, Mukilteo and Bothell areas.
Meet our Team
All of our pet groomers are required to have a minimum of 5 years experience and be pet CPR & First Aid certified. You can trust your pets are in good hands with our amazing team of pet professionals.
Ashley quickly found her love for dogs while working her first job at a doggy daycare in 2006. She attended Maser’s Grooming Academy in 2009, at age 19, and later traveled to southern Utah, where she assisted local rescue groups in Las Vegas save dogs from high-kill shelters. Ashley continues to dedicate time to helping dogs in need by offering free grooms to Everett Animal Shelter and other local rescues.

Trainer since 2006
Josh began working at kennels and pursuing a career as a dog trainer at just 16 years old, where he won many awards with the field dogs he trained. Josh became a licensed veterinary technician in 2005, but continued with his love of training dogs throughout his career.
Since opening A Pet Spa with his wife, Ashley, in 2022, Josh has found a new passion for cat grooming!
Josh specializes in dogs with reactivity.

Sarah graduated from the Petco Grooming Academy in 2012 and has attended regular seminars with industry leaders to continue her education. She has also completed LIMA for dog training and is an AKC C.G.C evaluator. Sarah lives on a farm with goats, pigs, geese, dogs, cats and a house chicken named Steven.
Sarah specializes in behavioral rehabilitation for dogs with grooming specific fear-aggression, seniors, and dogs with physical or medical limitations.

Bathing since 2024
Makayla started bathing dogs in 2024 and has quickly become a master in her field, already earning multiple certifications. Makayla is fulfilling her goals to pursue a professional grooming career and has begun training under our many skilled groomers as a part of our apprenticeship program.
